Mark Vincent Kassick, 63, passed away on February 24.
Born in Manville, New Jersey, Mark later settled in Hillsborough, New Jersey, where he proudly purchased a home and raised his family. He took great pride in being a homeowner, especially in caring for his yard, often found riding his tractor and keeping everything just right. His backyard was more than grass and a grill; it was the setting for summer BBQs, dancing with his kids, pickup basketball games in the driveway, pool days, trampoline laughs, sledding in the snow, trick-or-treating adventures, and countless games of catch. If there was a game, a recital, or a practice, he was there coaching from the sidelines or cheering from the stands.
Mark was loyal, hardworking, protective, funny, caring, and friendly. He had a joke ready at any moment and a deep love for his family. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he brought that same passion and dedication to everything he did. He coached his daughter’s softball teams, his son’s baseball and football teams, and rarely missed a basketball game. He proudly watched his daughter at gymnastics and showed up for his children in every way he could.
He worked at the GSA Warehouse in Burlington from 1985 to 2014, dedicating nearly three decades of hard work and commitment to his career. He was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s, Mary Mother of God, and Christ the King.
Mark was predeceased by his father, Richard Kassick; his brother, Richard Kassick Jr.; and his brother, Sean Kassick. He is survived by his mother, Sally Kassick; his brother, Kevin Kassick and his wife, Denise Kassick; and his brother, Keith Kassick. He also leaves behind his former wife, Colleen Leary; his children, Cailin Ann Hardgrove and her husband, John Hardgrove, Ryan Christopher Kassick, and Kelly Marie Kassick; and his grandson, Declan James Hardgrove. He was a good brother, son, father, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
More than anything, Mark was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He taught them to be loyal, to look out for one another, to be strong, and to never back down. The lessons he instilled will live on through them and through his grandson, who will grow up hearing stories of his grandfather’s strength, humor, and love.
His memory will live on in the backyard laughter, the echo of a coach’s encouragement, the smell of a summer BBQ, and the loyalty he instilled in those he loved.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, March 2, 2026, at St. Joseph's Parish, 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 (East Millstone).
